The Costa Mesa Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on Friday, January 7, 2011, as part of the Police Department’s commitment to public safety. This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Costa Mesa. The location of Friday’s checkpoint was on 17th Street at Raymond Avenue. The goal of the DUI Checkpoint was removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
